Telegram

This guide explains how to use Suby to accept payments and manage paid access for Telegram groups or channels, without building a custom checkout or payment flow.

Overview

On Telegram, Suby bot manages paid access to private groups and channels. It automatically controls who can join, stay, or get removed based on subscription status.

How Telegram Gating Works

Telegram access is based on group or channel membership.

Suby bot ensures that only users with a valid subscription can:

  • Join private groups

  • Stay inside paid channels

  • Keep their access active over time

Granting Access

Suby bot can:

  • Add a user to a private Telegram group or channel, even if they were not previously a member

  • Grant access immediately after a successful payment

  • Update the user’s access status as long as they continue paying

Renewals & Reminders (Crypto Only)

For crypto subscriptions:

  • Users receive renewal reminders before losing access

  • If the payment is completed, access continues

  • If the payment is not completed, access is removed automatically

Card subscriptions do not require reminders, as they renew automatically.

Removing Access

Access is automatically revoked when:

  • Payment is invalid or fails

  • Crypto subscription is not renewed after reminders

The user is removed from the group or channel without manual action.
